Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective April 15, 2008. |
|
1. Changes in duties of Executive Officers (effective April 15, 2008) |

2. Organizational changes (effective April 15, 2008) |
|
The Research & Development Operations will be reorganized in order to more effectively promote the Company's long-term vision and technological vision, as well as action plans in its companywide technological strategy. |
|
Specific changes are as follows: |
|
1) |
The Planning Division of Research & Development Operations will be renamed the Technology Planning Division. |
|
2) |
The Power Source Research Group in the Advanced Technology Research Division of Research & Development Operations will be raised to division status and renamed the Powertrain Technology Research Division. |
|
3) |
The Materials Research Group and the Materials Analysis Group in the Advanced Technology Research Division of Research & Development Operations will be integrated, raised to division status and renamed the Materials Division. |
|
4) |
The Fuel Cell Systems Group in the Advanced System Research Division of Research & Development Operations will be integrated with the EV Engineering Division of Product Development Operations at Motorcycle Headquarters, and renamed the Smartpower Technology Division. |
|
5) |
The Environmental Equipment Business Group of Research & Development Operations will be raised to division status and renamed the Environmental Equipment Business Division. |
|
|
The DP Engineering Division of SyS Operations at Motorcycle Headquarters will be shifted into Product Development Operations, also at Motorcycle Headquarters. The organizational change aims to more fully integrate product development. |
|
